Longtime series author Wisdom makes a wickedly fun jump into the supernatural realm. Offbeat characters -- including Irma, the ghost who haunts Jazz's car -- offer insight into this highly intriguing new heroine. The balance of danger, adventure and the supernatural is excellent. With characters as rich and challenging as these, let's hope we haven't seen the last of them.

Over the last 300 years, on-again/off-again lovers Jazz Tremaine and Nick Gregorivich have had sizzling sex and tumultuous breakups that usually end with witch Jazz trying to kill vampire Nick. Currently Jazz lives in Southern California and works as both a curse breaker and supernatural limo service driver. Nick's sudden reappearance throws her for a loop. While the attraction is still hot, trouble always follows.

This time detective Nick is on the trail of a host of missing vampires.
To uncover what's really going on, Nick needs Jazz's help. The trail is leading down a terribly dark and
dangerous road, toward a killer
with immense power. (SOURCEBOOKS,
