Book Review

92 PACIFIC BOULEVARD
by Debbie Macomber

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

Returning to Cedar Cove is always enjoyable. Macomber deftly combines sweet romance and a breath of suspense without losing the homespun charm that's been delighting readers for years.

Sheriff Troy Davis is still in love with his high school sweetheart, Faith Beckwith. Both are now widowed, and they briefly reconnected when Faith first returned to Cedar Cove, but a series of misunderstandings broke them up. Now Faith's being terrorized by vandals and is considering leaving town again, this time for good. Troy knows he has to act quickly, before he loses her forever.

But Troy has his hands full with other matters. A body was recently discovered, and there's reason to believe foul play was involved ... all of which has the mayor breathing down his neck and Troy wishing life could be simple! (MIRA, Sep., 400 pp., $7.99)
