ACCIDENTAL COMMANDO (4.5) Ingrid Weaver: Emily Wright is wounded but not defeated after she discovers her about-to-be groom is a con man who cheated her out of almost all her money. While on vacation, a man bursts through Emily’s balcony windows with a gun. Before he can shoot her, Eagle Squadron’s Sgt. Tyler Matheson arrives, and the shooter escapes. The shooter is El Gato, who plans to assassinate the American envoy in Rocama. The Eagle Squadron aims to stop him, but Emily is the only one who can identify him. Raised with four sisters, Tyler is protective of Emily without being patronizing and able to read the secret language of a woman who has been hurt, but holds her head high. Clever dialogue and adult characters make this a wonderful book that you won’t put down.
