Who you gonna call ... when super- natural stuff goes haywire? OOPS of course! This formerly bumbling team has mostly gotten their act together, but their attitude remains smart-alecky and totally hilarious. Cassidy showcases her considerable storytelling chops with this tale, which contains all her trademark sass and snark, as well as surprising and touching poignancy.

Cranky vampire Nina is manning the OOPS hotline when accountant Harry Emerson calls in freaking out about the sudden symptoms he is experiencing. Harry is a human working for Pack Cosmetics and is unaware the company is owned and run by werewolves. Scientist/werewolf Mara Flaherty wants a child even though she is mateless. Unfortunately, Harry inadvertently drank her lab experiment and is now becoming a werewolf. Harry’s life has already undergone drastic changes since he is now raising his orphaned niece and nephew. As Mara could be in deep trouble over Harry’s accidental conversion, the OOPS team had better come up with a plan ASAP. However, keeping Harry’s condition under wraps is not their only problem, since someone else knows and is menacing them all. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Dec., 320 pp., $15.00)
