The not-quite-ready-for-prime time players of OOPS (Nina, Marty & Wanda) are back and facing a real vampiric mess. The dialogue in this book is fast and furious. Cassidy’s quirky and offbeat series continues to be outlandish fun laced with a hint of poignancy. There’s never a dull moment with this bunch!

The OOPS team is on the job when they find Sam McLean suffering from a new case of vampirism. All Sam remembers is leaving a party with a woman from his office at O-Tech. Things get more complicated when Phoebe Reynolds, a heretofore unknown sister of Nina’s, shows up at the office and, during a scuffle, ends up with Sam’s teeth in her rear — creating yet another new vampire. The scary thing is that the woman who infected Sam is not a normal vampire, but one who was apparently made in a lab. That she dies a horrible death in front of all of them does not bode well for Sam and Phoebe — unless they can find out what went wrong! (BERKLEY SENSATION, Jun., 352 pp., $15.00)
