Stone’s taut mystery/romance debut sets the stage for her Gentlemen of Scotland Yard series. The sexy, smart characters will appeal to modern readers as much as the suspense. Their repartee and sensuality heat up the pages, promising a treat for readers.

Detective Zeno “Zak” Kennedy believes there is a plot being formulated to kill innocent people in random bombings. He suspects a member of Parliament is working with the terrorists and when he realizes his new tenant, Cassandra St. Cloud, is acquainted with the man, he sets out to keep his enemy close. The bohemian daughter of a free-thinking woman doctor, Cassie is intrigued by her handsome landlord and quite willing to begin a heated affair with him. But when she realizes how Zak’s interest in her began, she isn’t sure she can trust him. Cassie realizes it is Zak’s love she craves and will risk all to keep him safe.
