Image of Afterlight: The Dark Ink Chronicles

The first book in The Dark Ink Chronicles starts out with a bang. The protagonist Riley Poe grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. Instead of slowly building, the characters and the steamy setting of Savannah pull the reader right into their world and have their way with you. It’s a superb beginning to an unusual and addictive series and Jasper is destined to become a fan favorite.

Riley Poe lives on the tip of the underground scene as one of Savannah’s most talented tattoo artists. But living on the edge couldn’t prepare her for the other side. When her brother and his friends are led away by a cult of ancient vampires, the only ones who can help her are a family of vampires sworn to watch over Savannah. Eli Dupre not only wants to protect the city, but Riley as well — at any cost. It’s a task she doesn’t make easy for him as she takes on the bloodthirsty evil who has her brother, and wants to consume all in its path. (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Nov., 336 pp., $6.99)
