The final installment in the Raines of Wind Canyon trilogy is full of suspense and romance. A strong hero and an intricately written plot that throws in a few twists makes for a riveting story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

When handbag designer Lark Delaney comes to Devlin Raines requesting his help to find the family that adopted her niece, Devlin is reluctant. But he takes the case as a favor to an old friend. After all, it is just a straightforward search. However, “straightforward” is the last thing this case is as it takes an unexpected turn and now both Dev and Lark are looking for her niece, who is missing. As their search takes them from Los Angeles to Mexico, Dev becomes more invested — not only in the case, but in Lark herself. (MIRA, Mar., 411 pp., $6.99)
