While writing one more obituary for the San Francisco Herald, Josephine Sheehan comes to the realization that she wants a male other than her Labradoodle, Genghis, in her life. She makes a list of what she wants in a man and sends it out to the universe. When she meets pet company CEO Rick, she's sure he's the one for her. But is his complicated past something she can get over? (ST. MARTIN'S, Nov., 352 pp., $7.99)
