The last unmarried Cynster, Alisdair (aka Lucifer) has no wish to share the fate of his cousins and leaves London in hope of escaping marriage-minded females. But even away from Society, he finds fate thrusting him toward love.

Lucifer has gone to call on his old mentor, Horatio Waltham. But when he arrives at the manor he discovers Horatio has been murdered and before he can do anything he is accidentally knocked unconscious by the magistrates daughter, Phyllida Talent.

Lucifer vows to find the killer with Phyllidas help. Their investigation places Phyllida in danger, making her the killers next target because she is the only one who can unmask the assassin.

Though he doesnt want to wed, Lucifer falls in love with Phyllida. When he takes her to bed, he seals his fate. Her fate is likewise sealed by falling in love with a sexy Cynster.

This is a delightfully fresh Cynster mystery set in the lovely English countryside and peopled with a marvelous pair of lovers. Stephanie Laurens never fails to entertain and charm her readers with vibrant plots, snappy dialogue and unforgettable characters. SENSUAL (Feb., 400 pp., $6.50)
