Rio Sanchez is the enigmatic head of security for Blade Navarone and the last single man standing in Ruth Grayson’s world. Fans will be delighted by all of the twists and turns in this entry, as well as the appearance of all of the families who have graced the pages of Ray’s novels. This is a bittersweet conclusion to the Grayson Friends saga. Longtime readers will be thrilled, and the author’s voice will be sorely missed.

Skylar Dupree has been Blade Navarone’s event coordinator for two years, and she’s convinced that Rio is her soul mate. Rio knows Mrs. Grayson’s record as a matchmaker, but he’s sure he has escaped her reach. Skylar may intrigue him, but he knows that when she learns his history, she’ll run as fast as she can. However, Skylar is made of stronger stuff. Against the backdrop of an auction to benefit Mrs. Grayson’s music school, Rio realizes that he not only wants to protect Skylar, but love her as well. Threats to her life, made by an enemy from Blade and Rio’s past, motivate him to keep her with him forever. (ST. MARTIN’S, Nov, 301 pp., $7.99)
