Readers should be pleased with this marvelously entertaining tale about Ian, a familiar face from Sparks' previous vampire stories. The wonderful characters introduced here give hope that many more stories will follow.

Ian MacPhie was just 15 when he was turned into a vampire. He gladly suffered 12 days of excruciating pain to age one year for each day. Now that he looks older, he wants to find his true love. He's determined that she must be a vampire -- until he meets Toni Davis.

Taking a job as day guard for the vampires, Toni is trying to get proof that the bloodsuckers are real so that a friend of hers won't be considered a mental case. As she gets to know the vampires, she soon realizes that she can't reveal them in any way. She's dealing with a lot -- surprising revelations, the attraction she feels for Ian and dangerous vampires called the Malcontents. Clearly, Toni has a number of life- altering decisions to make! All I Want For Christmas is a Vampire

Submitted by Robin in PA on July 6, 2011 - 9:47pm.

Scottish vampire Ian MacPhie has been stuck in his 15 year old body for 500 years. Disgusted because women don't take him seriously, he takes a drug to age himself to 27 years of age. Signing up for an online matchmaking service gets him more women than he can handle. But the only woman he is interested in is the new human who has been hired as a daytime guard. Toni Davis takes a job as a bodyguard for the undead so she can get proof that vampires do exist. But she doesn't expect to actually like the people she is working for...or to fall in love with one of them.

This is the 5th book in the Love at Stake series and I thought it was very entertaining. Kerrelyn Sparks writes a fast paced story with lots of humor. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
