This book consists of two very hot stories about love lost and found around the Christmas holidays. With a new year on the horizon, these ladies are on the move and ready to be out with the old and in with new loves!

“Holiday Seduction” by Perrin features Mikki, who just split with Alexander. Her friends take her out to drown her sorrows. At the bar Mikki drinks a little too much and begins to feel the need for right-now male companionship. Enter an old schoolmate, Barry, who wants more from Mikki than a one-night stand.

In “Her Holiday Gifts” by Mello, baker/restaurateur Malisa is commissioned to make a New Year’s Eve cake for Gabriel Whitman’s company. This cake is to be large enough for a person to pop out at midnight. Malisa decides to test the mechanism and is accidentally locked inside! The cake is delivered and Gabriel, working late, hears a voice screaming for help coming from the cake. Their chemistry is instantaneous but they have to work around an ex-wife who wants to keep her “Mrs.” title. (DAFINA, Oct., 352 pp., $6.99)
