Book Review

ALMOST FOREVER
by Deborah Raney

Genre: Inspirational, Mainstream

RT Rating

Raney’s latest is both thrilling and heartbreaking. Interesting characters will pull the reader into the story, but certain plot points seem so far-fetched that it’s difficult to get fully engaged in the action.

Bryn Hennesey is devastated when her firefighter husband and four others perish in a fire at the shelter where she is a volunteer. Bryn harbors a secret — she thinks she may be the one who set the fire. As she bands together with the other surviving spouses for support, she begins to grow close to Garrett Edmonds. Will he still care for her if he discovers she was the one at fault? (HOWARD, May, 368 pp., $14.99)
