Benway’s three-dimensional characters leap off the page. She captures the trials and tribulations of growing up with wit and whimsy, humor and perception — making this novel a real joy.

A 16-year-old, world-class lockpicker and safecracker, Maggie comes from a family of spies. But she’s in for the most challenging undercover assignment of her life: high school. Maggie must gain the trust of a new classmate in order to get access to his father’s papers, which could expose her family and threaten their lives. Learning about friendship, cliques and dating is nothing a super-spy like Maggie can’t handle. Too bad this case is far more complicated than any dossier could have explained.
