Genre: Inspirational, Mainstream

RT Rating

Elmer's novel resonates with the love of family, God and community. Merit is a very strong character who she learns to rely on God and to depend on his strength, despite her fears. Although some readers may not agree with Merit's choices, God's power is shown through the author's elegant prose.

Will and Merit Sullivan decide to sell their home in California and buy a small lake resort in Idaho. The buildings need a great deal of restoration, but the Sullivans hope
this task will strengthen their family. After they get settled in their new place, Merit discovers that she's pregnant -- at age 44. Will and Merit
also receive some other news that devastates them and threatens to change their lives forever. (WATERBROOK, Jun., 320 pp., $12.99)
