ALWAYS VALENTINE'S DAY (4.5) by Kristin Hardy: Taking an Alaskan cruise with her father for his 60th birthday, model Larkin Hayes is intent on reconnecting with him after a five-year estrangement. Meeting dairy farmer Christopher Trask and his family on board is an unexpected pleasure -- and a big complication. Suddenly, Carter Hayes is following Christopher's mother, Molly, back to Vermont and talking about investing in Christopher's farm. Intent on protecting Carter, and intrigued by Christopher, Larkin follows -- and ends up trying to prove she's not like Christopher's ex. She isn't, but it takes him a while to realize it. A worthy, witty addition to the Holiday Hearts series, this story has it all -- strong conflict, layered characters and a sweet secondary romance.
