The new Men of Lancaster County series centers on the heroes’ beliefs and how they change. The characters in the first installment are well-rounded and seek ways to better their lives. Clark and Meissner have melded their different writing styles into a cohesive story.

Tyler Anderson loves his Amish grandparents and the way of life they have provided for him since he was five years old, but he has started to wonder why his father didn’t try harder to come back for him. Tyler soon must make the decision to become Amish or stay English. Rachel Hoeck has been waiting what seems like forever for Tyler to ask her to marry him, but unless he becomes Amish, they won’t have a future. Tyler has a chance to go visit with his father and half-brother in California, but he needs to make his choice once and for all. (HARVEST HOUSE, Apr., 352 pp., $13.99)
