The characters in the story are all well drawn. The author gives the wolf pack a mythology and a background that makes reader’s care about what is happening. Unfortunately, the pacing of the romance between Mala and Angus is feels forced. It takes a very long time for their relationship to begin and when it does, it feels rushed.

Mala Singh has suffered from debilitating nightmares her entire life but recently they have become so disruptive that Mala must find a way to stop them. To this end, Mala travels to a town that she heard of in one of the dreams. Once there she finds a young, abused wolf that she has been trying to protect while she dreams. Through this experience, Mala realizes that she is actually a dream-wraith, a creature with power over others when they are sleeping. The town is full of shape shifters and their alpha, Angus MacIntyre, doesn’t trust Mala and her abilities. However, Mala’s willingness to help others wins him over and he takes the role of Mala's guardian, protecting her from those that would exploit her power.
