In the case of Janney and Marek, Venus has a lot to do so that this couple realizes they are meant to be together. Mars just wants his broken soldier, Marek, back on the battlefield. Venus knows that Marek needs someone in his life who will bring true, solid happiness.

Marek and Janney have a sizzling attraction, and that is where Quinn turns up the heat and intensity. This story has a wonderful balance between sensitivity and sensuality, with humor from the gods on the side. A terrific book. (Aug. '05, 281 pp., $12.95)
