AND THEN YOU DYE
by Monica Ferris

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

Ferris continues to charm with her latest Needlecraft mystery, where the death of a specialty yarn dyer stuns Betsy and the people of Excelsior. She expertly builds multilayered characters and presents motives that will have you guessing until the very end. The conclusion wraps up nicely with an old wives’ tale leading to the discovery of the murder weapon. A cross-stitch pattern is included.

Betsy Devonshire asks Hailey Brent to lead a yarn-dyeing workshop at her store Crewel World. Hailey is known for her unique vegetable-dyed yarns. Not everyone is a fan, though: Hailey’s neighbor, Marge Schultz, accuses Hailey of stealing flowers from her nursery, and she’s suspected when Hailey is shot dead in her basement workshop. Marge asks Betsy to help find the real killer. She uncovers a whole array of suspects, but the deeper Betsy digs, the more she’s convinced Marge might be involved and that her motive includes a secret affair and a lovely red marigold.
