RT Rating

You won’t be able to put Patterson’s latest down; this reviewer finished it in one day! Suspenseful, emotional and with some additions to your favorite flock of freaks, Angel will have fans positively desperate for the next Maximum Ride novel, as this one feels far too short.

When Fang made it clear he never wanted to see her again, it broke Max’s tough-girl heart. Reduced to tears on a daily basis, she’s drawing comfort from her flock and her human family. Then of course there’s Dylan, who is perfect and perfectly confusing. Disaster strikes when a new group dedicated to creating mutant kids and killing the “normal” human population arises. Max pulls herself together and steps up as leader. Until Fang calls. Suddenly he needs her help again. Together the flock and Fang’s new friends set out to stop the Doomsday Group. Sparks will fly, and one of the flock won’t come back from battle. (LITTLE, BROWN, Feb., 291pp., $17.99, ISBN: 9780316036207, HC, 10 & Up)
