ANGELS ON SUNSET BOULEVARD
These teens could be adults -- they have freedom, money and no curfew. De la Cruz's series first has an enjoyable, original story with love, mystery and L.A. glamour. Some dialogue feels stock, and the author tells us too late of a romance that's already blossomed.
TAP -- The Angel Practice -- is a website turned secret club. Taj, a skater girl, meets Nick, a rich kid, at a TAP party, and the more Nick tries to learn about TAP, the more suspicious things start to happen to him. When kids go missing, Nick wonders if there's a way out. (Simon and Schuster, Mar., 224 pp., $15.99, ISBN: 9781416927679, HC, 14 and Up)
