by Joanne Fluke

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

Fluke's Hannah Swensen series takes us to Lake Eden, Minn., in June, where The Cookie Jar is bustling with activity and, of course, a murder or two. The charming and familiar characters lead readers through another mystery, which involves a man from Hannah's past. Catch up with the gang in this delightful, thoroughly entertaining series that keeps readers coming back for more.

Catered events are keeping Hannah busy at The Cookie Jar. When she agrees to act as a magician's assistant for her friend Herb in a local talent show and charity event, she never dreams she'll find the dead body of college professor Bradford Ramsey during intermission. Although Hannah disliked Ramsey, she'd never wish him dead.

Yet many people out-and-out hated him, including an angry ex-wife, an assistant poetry professor, a local celebrity and Hannah's younger sister Michelle. Which one was angry enough to do away with the unscrupulous Ramsey? Meanwhile, Hannah's love life remains complicated as Mike becomes more attentive and Norman begins pulling away.
