Super storyteller Singh returns to the realm of Angels, but this time the focus is on dangerously sexy vampire Dmitri. Arrogant and powerful, Dmitri has been an enigma, which makes his backstory all the more compelling. At this rate, Singh is going to need her own keeper bookcase!

As one of Archangel Raphael’s Seven and his second in command, Dmitri is in charge of New York while Raphael and Elena are in Japan. The discovery of the head of a nascent vampire with an odd tattoo leads Dmitri to consult with the Guild to see if they can translate the language. Honor St. Nicholas is a shattered Guild Hunter struggling to recover from her two months of torture at the hands of various vampires. Honor’s specialty is language and history, but working with the lethal Dmitri is almost too much to handle. Dmitri is more attracted to this damaged human than he has been to anyone else for a thousand years. Finding and destroying those who harmed her becomes a priority, and ominously the recent murders may also be connected as an ancient enemy is rising. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Sep., 336 pp., $7.99)
