This novella would likely have been much more successful if it had been rendered as a complete novel, allowing more opportunities for plot and character development. Interactions between the characters seem rushed, and the
plot is not completely fleshed out. While this story has some strong
scenes, it ultimately suffers from not
being more fully realized.

Queen Larikke sought only a brief respite from the people and duties of her Northland realm. But when she encounters Drake, the destiny of her land and her future are inescapably altered. (, dl $4.45)
