IN THE ARMS OF THE LAW
by Peggy Moreland

Working a John Doe murder
isn't unusual for Detective Andi Matthews, but partnering with junior
officer Gabe Thunderhawk is. He's as hardheaded and competitive as Andi
herself, so the attraction that springs
up between them is surprising. Andi
has no intention of falling victim to Gabe's legendary charm; she's more focused on identifying the victim, who may be a long-lost Fortune, and catching a killer. In the Arms of the Law (3) has a strong basic plot, and the procedural details are quite interesting. But the development
of Peggy Moreland's romance seems rushed, and the characters are a little uneven—one minute, Andi's furious with Gabe for kissing her, the next she's in bed with him.
