THE ART OF SAYING GOODBYE
This is an interesting yet sad story about sad people who do seem to ultimately recognize their blessings. The characters are intriguing, but self-centered and ultimately unlikable.
Ten years ago, five women forged close bonds: Julianne, an empathetic nurse; strong-on-the-outside Andrea; Ginger, who’s torn between career and motherhood; feisty Iona and Paisely, the liveliest of the group. But when one of their members falls ill suddenly, it affects them all in unexpected ways. (MORROW, Jul., 352 pp., $13.99)
