Book Review

by Siobhan Vivian, Jenny Han

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal

RT Rating

For a book heavy on the ghostly supernatural, there’s a wealth of real-world situations. Han and Vivian’s sequel to Burn for Burn has all the warmth, spark, intrigue and romance of its predecessor. A changing perspective keeps things fresh; each chapter sheds light on the inner monologue of one of three distinct and equally appealing voices.

What started as a plot to get even has spiraled into something Mary, Kat and Lillia can’t control. Rennie is dead and Lillia is struggling to reconcile her confused attraction to Ren’s old flame. Mary’s power is growing as her connection to humanity evaporates — and Kat is struggling to keep their lives together. (SIMON & SCHUSTER, Sep., 400 pp., $17.99, ISBN: , HC, 14 & Up)
