In the third Pacific Coast Justice book, the author, a retired police officer, shows her real-life experiences skillfully. The added conflict from various side characters seems unnecessary to an already full plot. But the anticipation and thrill will carry the reader through each page.
Officer Carly Edwards fears the city is on the brink of a gang war. With tension escalating and clues not adding up, Carly suspects that something more may be going on. With the help of her husband, Sergeant Nick Anderson, Carly must get to the bottom of things before it’s too late. (Tyndale, Apr., 400 pp., $12.99)
