Round two of Armstrong's Darkest Powers trilogy continues, following the first-person exploits of teenage necromancer Chloe Saunders. This escape thriller takes the gritty action and supernatural danger to new heights as Chloe and Co. run for their lives. As the characters and their relationships evolve, the story foreshadows intriguing potential plot developments. Top notch as always!

Although her friends, sorcerer Simon and werewolf Derek, managed
to avoid capture, Chloe and Rae were betrayed by Chloe's aunt Lauren and are once again prisoners of the sinister Edison Group. Chloe's powers as a necromancer are growing, and she's now able to be in contact with murdered fellow student Liz.

Surprisingly, when Chloe tries to escape this time, it's Tori Enright, whose mother is an Edison primary, who helps her get away and reunite with Simon and Derek. The teens are now on the run, hunted by an organization that fears and wants to control them.
