When police officer Maggie Barnes marries her friend, attorney Tucker Jones, for the sake of a child, the platonic relationship she expects is complicated by their intense attraction. But when the baby's mother shows up and they lose the infant girl, Tucker wants to stay married. Maggie doesn't understand why and, having fallen in love with Tucker, she's not sure she can handle the not-quite-real marriage they've been living any longer. Eve Gaddy's Baby Be Mine (4) is a compelling story with interesting characters. Maggie's and Tucker's motivations are clearly depicted, as is their somewhat unusual relationship.
