BACHELOR COP (4) by Carolyn McSparren: Two years after a vicious rape, Dr. Helena Norcross meets police officer Randy Railsback at a self-defense course she's taking to boost her confidence and help her get on with her life. Randy, who admires her courage, wants to help, and soon realizes he feels more than admiration for Helena. When they find out that the rapist sometimes returns to kill his victim, Helena becomes even more determined -- this time to take a killer off the streets. McSparren writes a very convincing characterization of a woman trying to fight her way back from a damaging incident. The eventual capture of the rapist/murderer adds extra depth to the story.
