RT Rating
A compelling, believable story. Readers will be glued to the pages as Percy’s sweet words and deeds are followed up by insults and controlling behavior, confusing 15-year-old Kate as she experiences her first love. Jordan’s follow-up to Hot Girl has Kate involved with a good-looking manipulator. Percy displays the classic signs of an abuser and Jordan's book can be an excellent resource to women young and old about what to look out for.
After a family tragedy, Kate’s world is rocked when she is removed from her loving foster parents’ home and placed in a grungy group home full of haters. Lonely and full of despair she runs into Percy, a blast from her past. He sweeps her off her feet, taking her on expensive dates and giving her a Blackberry Pearl cell phone so he can keep in touch with her. Her best friend tries to warn her, but Kate ignores her and that little voice in her head telling her that his manipulations, mood swings, outbursts of temper and controlling behavior are a blueprint for abuse.
