BAD NIGHTS
by Rebecca York

Genre: Romantic Suspense, General Romantic Suspense
Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

Tense and intriguing, the first of York’s Rockfort Security books is an action-packed read that promises much for the series to come. The dangerous, unsettling atmosphere creates an ever-escalating sense of apprehension around two wounded, surprisingly complex characters. Though York’s clipped sentences and frequent flashbacks sometimes slow the pace of the romance, these techniques successfully build the tension of the hunt and escape, making for a suspenseful, visceral reading experience.

Professor Morgan Rains plans to spend an evening in her remote cabin, but when she finds a naked, injured man wandering around in the woods, she has no choice but to help. Jack Brandt escaped the reclusive militant organization he infiltrated, but he knows that the same men who tortured him for information will take any measures to reclaim their prisoner. Though he hasn’t cared about anything for years, Jack has the strong and resourceful Morgan to protect, and when she is captured, there is nothing he won’t do to make her safe.
