Plenty of action and a strong, sensitive hero make up the latest novel from Sorenson. Authentic characters, realistic scenes, good pacing and the heated passion between Owen and Penny will keep the reader turning the pages. This is edge-of-your seat suspense to the end. Sorenson scores again, and this one is a winner.
Wealthy politician’s daughter Penny Sandoval is kidnapped along with her son Cruz and bodyguard Owen Jackson and driven into the California badlands — where missing people are rarely found. Owen’s troubled past has caught up to his present — a past that he would prefer to keep from Penny, whom he secretly loves. After escaping, all three make their way through the desert, struggling to outwit their pursuers. In order to survive, Owen must reveal his dark past to Penny, as well as his heart.
