Filled with equal amounts of emotion and heat, Bared to You can easily be devoured in one evening. Day creates two multidimensional characters in heroine Eva and hero Gideon, whose successful and attractive exteriors hide traumatized pasts. These layers will help readers connect with the pair, and make this a story that sticks in the mind. Especially notable is Day's portrayal of Eva. The heroine is a rape survivor who is able to independently overcome her abuse and find a full and fulfilling sex life. Furthermore, this read is filled with exceptional secondary characters, especially Eva's dysfunctional, yet lovable best friend Cary — here's hoping he gets his own story soon!

After suffering sexual abuse at the hands of her malicious stepbrother when she was young, Eva Reyes has built a new life that any woman would envy. She has just relocated to New York City for an advertising job, she also has a supportive best friend and good relationship with her mother and newest stepfather. Twenty-something Eva's life seems just about perfect and she isn't particularly interested in adding a boyfriend to the mix. However, the strikingly handsome, successful business mogul Gideon Cross may just make her re-evaluate her life. Domineering Gideon is persistent in the face of Eva's reluctance to pursue a sexual relationship. But what starts out as a fiery physical attraction between Eva and Gideon soon blossoms into a sweet relationship full of respect. As Gideon and Eva grow closer, Gideon's own secrets are revealed and Eva learns that she isn't the only one with a deep, dark past. (BERKLEY, June 2012, dl., $7.99)
