BATTLE FOR THE SOLDIER'S HEART
BATTLE FOR THE SOLDIER’S HEART (3) by Cara Colter: Former soldier Rory Adams lost his best friend on the battlefield. He promised his buddy that he would watch over the man’s younger sister — a difficult task, because Rory has a great deal of guilt over his friend’s death. Grace Day has had a crush on Rory since childhood. When they meet again, she realizes her feelings haven’t changed. She assumes that Rory’s aloofness is caused by disinterest rather than guilt, but eventually they come to admit their true feelings. The characters are sympathetic, but the pace of the story is somewhat slow.
