BAYOU BETRAYAL (4) by Robin Caroll Since the murder of Kent, her P.I. husband, Monique Harris has been alone. She's moved to Lagniappe, La., to be close to some previously unknown cousins, then gets a telephone call telling her to go home. That's followed by a fire that destroys her house and almost takes her life and brings her to the attention of Deputy Gary Anderson. He wants to know why someone would want to run Monique out of town, if it's connected to her husband's death and if there's any way he can have a future with a woman who's angry with God. This well-done mystery has a strong heroine and a nicely human hero.
