TO BE A FAMILY (4) by Joan Kilby: School- teacher and breast cancer survivor Katie Henning is thrilled when her first book comes out, is popular and the publisher offers her a contract to write several more. Her life seems to be going perfectly. She has even forgiven, and gets along with, her ex-fiancé, John Forster, who left her when she was sick because he felt she wasn’t being aggressive enough with her disease. When John comes home with his 6-year-old daughter, Tuti, whose mom just died, Katie agrees to help John acclimate the little girl to Australia, and the two fall in love all over again. This is a sweet love story that perfectly renders the emotional strength it takes to overcome adversity. Kilby’s characters are well drawn and sympathetic; readers won’t be able to keep from loving them.
