This is a delightful story of starting over and finding joy and contentment, as well as the love that can be lost in the hustle and bustle of pursuing success. Great characters and an enjoyable plot make this an entertaining tale for summer reading — or any season.

Margaux Sullivan was a summer person and Nick Prescott a townie, a gulf that could not be crossed. But that was years ago. When her husband takes all their assets and disappears, leaving her with only her car, Crescent Cove, Conn., is the only place Margaux has to go. Nick is 10 years out of the Army and now the town’s chief of police. Helping his mother raise his nephew, Conner, and watching out for them leaves him no time for anything else — until he sees Margaux again. (MORROW, Jun., 368 pp., $14.99)
