Another Laurenston gem! Readers can enjoy this tale even if it’s their first in the series. This paranormal romance reads like a contemporary that happens to be about shifters. It’s a classic story of opposites attracting — although most opposites don’t have tails.

Blayne is a hyperactive were-dog and roller derby player extraordinaire. But she’s such a nice player that her team is going to replace her. Trying to become more aggressive, Blayne seeks the help of polar bear-lion shifter Bo, the most aggressive player in the national shifter hockey league. Despite pressure from her extended family, will the sparks these two create turn into a fire that can last? (BRAVA, Jun., 384 pp., $14.00)

Anyone who likes a book filled with humor and action then they need to pick up a Laurenston book! I love the way her charcters show their animal side. Blayne is a wolf dog hybrid with all the distractiveness of dogs and Bo is a single minded, focused alpha lion bear hybrid. What a combination! The interactions of all the characters in the book keep you on your toes while reading. Many times I would just start laughing out loud because I couldn't help myself. It was very distracting to my husband! If you haven't read a Shelly Laurenston book then you need to pick on up. Best to start with The Mane Event and work your way up to this one. You won't be disappointed!!!
