Book Review

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Multicultural

RT Rating

Solomon Bassett, Ophelia Missler and Marcel Taylor have been best friends for 25 years. As the novel begins, Ophelia's boyfriend catches her off-guard and pops the question at Marcel's wedding.

While Solomon and Ophelia share a dance at the wedding, she tells him that she's going to marry Jonas. Solomon is overcome with regret because he should have told Ophelia about his feelings for her long ago.

Fans of Nicholas Sparks will find this unique novel compelling. Byrd proves again that she's a wonderful storyteller. Her style shines in each book, and the surprise at the end of this one makes this excellent novel well worth the read. (Sep., 256 pp., $6.99)
