BECAUSE OF AUDREY (3) by Mary Sullivan: After florist Audrey Stone reveals that his father sold her a portion of the land he’d planned to sell in order to save the family company, Gray Turner makes a startling move. But when he declares his father incompetent and his parents are horrified, he soon realizes that only Audrey can help him make things right — if he can get over his own fears and convince her to help him after betraying her trust and voiding the sale of the land. This story is well written but slightly unrealistic in terms of character motivation. Gray’s lack of memory of a traumatic incident in his past, and his bad feeling about coming home because of it, seems slightly unrealistic, as does his apparent lack of feeling about the death of his fiancée.
