I love the growth happening in the YA genre, and Glines and her provocative characters are wonderful ambassadors for the new adult subgenre. The depth and complexity of the characters’ relationships will ring true for all of us who love the messy, complicated, not–so-perfect people in our lives. Note: tasteful but explicit sex scenes included.

When Marcus moves home to help his mother and sister deal with his father’s betrayal, he remembers why he was so desperate to leave their small town. Living with a friend of a friend, Cage, who sleeps with a different busty blonde every night, does nothing to soothe his frayed nerves. Then Willow wanders in, looking for Cage, and Marcus feels his world tilt. Best friends Willow and Cage have always been able to count on one another when life on the wrong side of the tracks got ugly. As Willow’s crush on Marcus grows, Cage warns her off, but she desperately needs something good in her life. Can Marcus and Willow save each other? (TEEN.
