Cultural anthropologist Erin Dawson is doing her doctoral dissertation on a white woman related to her adoptive family who disappeared in the early 1900s in search of her Navajo family, and travels to the reservation in Cedar Canyon, Ariz., for research. Tribal policeman Adam Silverhorn is undercover and looking into a drug cartel at work in the area. When Adam’s and Erin’s paths cross, Erin can’t help falling for him, but Adam’s refusal to accept Jesus as his savior places their relationship on hold.
