BESIDE STILL WATERS
by Tricia Goyer

Genre: Inspirational, Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

A wonderful story about the Amish and the way they live their lives by the writings of the Bible. The simple, no-frills way of life starts to seem harsh to some of the members and they begin to question if this is truly the right way to live. Goyer is a talented author with more than 20 books under her belt. Readers will delight in this latest one.

Marianna Sommer is named after two of her sisters who were killed in an accident. She has a hard time living up to the memories her mother and father have of their beloved daughters. Her parents decide to move their family to Montana when the children begin to show way too much interest in the English world. Marianna is upset, since she wants to stay to marry Aaron Zook and be baptized in the local church. But Marianna comes to find that moving does not mean she lost everything she held dear, it simply means new ways of finding out who she is and having peace in her soul. (B&H, Apr., 320 pp., $14.99)
