THE BEST CATCH IN TEXAS
Physician's assistant Nicolette Saddler isn't inclined toward cardiologist Ridge Garroway from the get-go. He's replacing a colleague she was fond of, and he's too handsome for comfort. But Ridge is charming enough to make once-burned Nicci forget why she shouldn't get involved with him -- almost. He's also persistent, and eventually wins her over. Everything's fine until he proposes -- and Nicci definitely isn't interested. Stella Bagwell's The Best Catch in Texas (3) is a pleasant though unexceptional novel. Ridge is by far the best-developed character; the others are basically stereotypes, particularly his parents.
