Life on earth has changed-- pollution has almost destroyed mankind's ability to reproduce. Only women on reservations are fertile--and they are kept within the boundaries. Then one of the women, Chenoa, is kidnapped. She is rescued by Enforcer Lee Tanner, who is determined to see her returned home--even though women who leave the reservations are not allowed back. Their attraction leads to intimate relations, and soon, Lee doesn't want to let Chenoa leave him...ever.

This is an interesting and imaginative story about an alternate Earth. But the implication that scientists are too ignorant to discover why women are barren is hard to swallow. The female lead is nicely done, but the hero's actions don't differ much from those of the villain, though Lee improves as the story progresses. (dl $5.95)
