BEYOND ORDINARY (3) by Mary Sullivan: Angel Donovan drops out of college after a friend dies in a motorcycle accident, and back at home she becomes reacquainted with Timm Franck, a geek and loner with horrible burn scars who’s now the successful owner of the local newspaper. But while Timm’s always been attracted to Angel, he still sees her as a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, and her part in her friend’s accident only reinforces his beliefs. It’s only when the two begin to spend time together that he realizes they could have a future. Beyond Ordinary is well written, but Angel’s grief isn’t terribly realistic, and the conflict is resolved just a bit too quickly.
